The competition is about showing respect and inclusion for every sector in our communities, young, old, rich or poor and creating communities to which the people are proud to say they belong.
This annual competition has become one of the most prestigious community awards on the island of Ireland. Co-operation Ireland is delighted to be associated through its Local Authority Programme with Pride of Place since it started 13 years ago. We are delighted that this continues to be one of Co-operation Ireland’s key community initiatives.
This is IPB Insurance’s fifth year as title sponsors of Pride of Place, having supported the competition in a smaller way in previous years. IPB is committed to supporting this competition because we believe Pride of Place is an ideal platform to recognize the huge efforts being made in communities around the country and thank people for their efforts. The spirit of collaboration and camaraderie represented by the various initiatives is inspiring and is an excellent example of how communities can work together to make a real and practical difference to society.
