Castlefinn Partnership Initiative was established in 1999 as an umbrella organisation representing twelve community groups in the Castlefinn area with the aim of promoting and encouraging the social, cultural and training and sporting needs of the area. This led to the construction of the CPI Resource centre. The complex comprises a multitude of facilities with everything from a multi-purpose Sports Hall to Retail Enterprise Units.

New innovative initiatives have also been established such as The North West Annual Garden Show country, N. Ireland and Scotland. This is now a major county event (attracting about 13,000 visitors over 2011 May weekend from all over Ireland and UK). The replica of the Irish Garden in the Whitehouse is being developed in Castlefinn at present and is designed by Diarmuid Gavin. This is a community, cultural tourism, heritage and diaspora garden that will serve the people for pleasure, leisure and entertainment.
