Winner: Mulhuddart Motorcross Project, Fingal Council Area, North Dublin

The Mulhuddart Motorcross Project has been in gestation for five years and finally became a reality in May 2015. This community project in the Fingal administrative area of Blanchardstown began when local people came together to try to solve a problem involving local youths. Community engagement and reaching out with residents, Gardaí, Fingal County Council, the Safer Blanchardstown Community Policing Forum and young motorbike enthusiasts has resulted in an amazing motorcross practice track situated just above the Tolka Valley. The project set out to reduce the problem of motorbikes racing through local estates. The facility is now helping to reduce anti-social behaviour associated with "off road" motorbike activity. The project promotes integration and social cohesion in the community, and provides a welcome outlet for young and not-so- young motorbike fans from Mulhuddart and beyond.
