Summary

The-Right-Key,-Dromore,-Co-DownThe Right Key is a social enterprise that uses music to bring about positive change, health and well-being for people on the margins of society. Based in Dromore, County Down, the group has established the ‘Recovery Café’ which is a safe social space for people in the process of recovery: addicts, ex-prisoners, and people with mental health issues. Their Voice of Recovery Singers have performed at major health and addiction conferences both locally and internationally.

At the Recovery Café people are brought together to engage in a range of purposeful activities: singing for health workshops, acoustic music nights, instrument tuition and a guitar-making workshop. Practical help is also offered to those that need it in the form of a clothes bank, a food bank and hot meals are provided for the elderly/dementia sufferers and their carers. Established in 2012, the project supports 170 people per week from the local community.
