Castleview Housing Estate, LimerickThe estate was completed in 1977 and consisted of some houses for the elderly, some privately purchased and the majority for rent. Like many areas, Castleview was affected by anti-social behaviour and began to deteriorate. A group of concerned residents approached the local Gardai and Limerick County Council for help, which was forthcoming and gratefully received.

The community has invested money raised from Christmas fundraisers in flowers and shrubs. Clippings and shrubs have also been donated and replanted. Castleview Residents Association and the residents themselves are very proud of their estate.

Castleview Estate, with its 126 houses, is an attractive place to visit, and is indicative of a happy and united community.  All the public areas are maintained to a very high standard, and each individual house and garden is a credit to the owners or tenants.

The hard work and diligence of residents has transformed this estate into an attractive place to live and visit.
