Winner: Clonbur, Co Galway

Summary
Clonbur is one of Ireland's best kept secrets. It is at the heart of Ireland's Lake District, with Lough Corrib to the south and Lough Mask to the north, both world renowned for fresh water angling. Surrounded by mountains and forests, there are many beautiful walks with spectacular views. The different voluntary groups in the area work closely together to make life better for everyone, from the young (playground in the pipeline) to the not so young (twice weekly day centre for the elderly). There is a Community Council, GAA Club, and Angling Club. On an international front, Clonbur has helped send hundreds of Christmas shoe boxes and as part of the Zambia Housing Project, has helped build 65 houses and a community centre in Kitwe, Zambia. Clonbur is a multicultural area, with people from all over Ireland and from at least ten countries living locally. 'Clonbur; a great place to live. A great place to visit'
