Winner: Largy College’s YSI Group of 2014 – 2015, Co Monoghan

Summary
A group of students from Largy College in Clones set out to educate students on the effects of homophobic bullying and to make them more empathetic towards the LGBT community. They developed a campaign, called ‘LGBT-Let’s Get By Together’ and delivered a range of initiatives aimed at getting their message of tolerance and inclusiveness across to young people. Monaghan County Council was so impressed by their work that they were asked to come to Monaghan town to participate in the Social Inclusion Week. In May, they won the prestigious Young Social Innovators of the Year Award. These young people are truly inspirational, and are making a real change to attitudes towards the LGBT community in Co Monaghan for which the community thanks them.
